Neighbours speak of their sadness following death of a young mum and toddler son

Neighbours of a young mum and her toddler son have told of their shock over the sudden deaths. Named locally as Kia Russell and Kamari, the pair were found at an address in Swinburne Road, Ipswich on Wednesday. It is understood that they were treated by paramedics, but died at the scene. A 17-year-old boy has been arrested, Suffolk Police have confirmed. A police officer stood outside the semi-detached house on Thursday morning, with floral tributes laid beside the garden gate. The force was called by East of England Ambulance Service at 5pm on Wednesday after a woman’s body was found at a property in Swinburne Road. A young child also discovered at the address was treated by paramedics but died at the scene, police said. Officers said the victims’ next of kin have been informed.
