Temperatures could hit 20C in East Anglia as warm air from Azores sweeps UK

Forecasters have said that temperatures could reach 20C this week as we say goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring. The warmer weather will come just after a spell of widespread heavy rain which triggered floods all across the UK. The reason for this rise in temperatures is because of a mild air being blown in from the Azores in the mid-Atlantic. This could see temperatures hit ten degrees hotter than normal for this time of year including East Anglia. It is claimed that temperatures will hit the mid-teens and there is a small chance they could rise to almost 20C in London, East Anglia or Lincolnshire. Regardless, forecasters say it will feel much warmer than recently because strong winds that battered the UK for days, along with torrential rain and snow in the north, have finally eased, The Mirror reports. Flooding remains a threat in some places. As of Tuesday morning there are 13 flood warnings and 19 alerts in England, and three warnings in Wales.
