Companies across Britain, big and small, have been forced to turn to the government to pay their staff as the pandemic cuts through vast swathes of the economy. BT said it would not need the scheme and would pay all staff for at least three months.
BT says it is connecting the new Nightingale Hospitals, as well as continuing any ongoing or planned programmes unrelated to the coronavirus pandemic – something it says staff may be retrained and reassigned to help with.
A statement read: “Hosted by Jake Humphrey, live from his home, and featuring contributions from Rio Ferdinand, Peter Crouch and Robbie Savage, the programme will include topical debate, a Joe Cole skills masterclass and a replay of a classic nine-goal thriller – Norwich vs Liverpool (2016) – from the BT Sport football archives.
In the meantime, Sky are offering customers the opportunity to pause subscriptions while BT donate funds to the NHS or offer a one-month credit system.
Equally, if you’ve already opted to donate one month’s worth of credit to the NHS Charities Together COVID-19 Urgent Appeal, BT will automatically donate the second month’s cash directly to your account.
