(CNN)The nephew of a man who died during the height of the coronavirus pandemic in New Jersey is suing the nursing home where his uncle was a resident, alleging that the facility failed to provide the legally required level of care while fraudulently claiming to do so.

Ten of the nursing homes have faced significant fines. The penalties range from $70,000 to $380,000. Forty-five facilities got smaller fines for failing to complete mandatory testing and for not reporting records to the state. Others were ordered to develop a plan to fix the problems.
