There’s a chance of showers/t’storms in the city tonight, though it looks like the bulk of the shower/t’storm activity will stay off to the north and west. Otherwise, it will be warm and muggy with temps only falling into the mid and upper 70s.
Hot and humid conditions are again expected Wednesday, with temperatures in the upper 80s, but it will still feel pretty steamy. There will also be slightly better risk for thunderstorms and it will stay unsettled the rest of the week, with highs in the low-to-mid 80s each day.
As of August 6, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had confirmed 570 cases of MIS-C across 40 states and the District of Columbia, including 10 deaths. The average age of those cases is 8 years old, and 70% of the cases have occurred in Latino or non-Hispanic Black children.
“I even had to be demanding and tell them I’m going to bring his lawyer in here to demand y’all to let him stay here because he cannot be out in the street,” Ceno said.
