The Members’ Council of the CSA on Saturday studied a summary of the Fundudzi Forensic Report, which was formed after an independent investigation into the administrative affairs of the CSA in 2016. The report’s findings led to the dismissal of former CSA CEO Thabang Moroe last month.
“In the context of the present fiscal situation and the consequent pressure on Government resources, there is a need for further economy and rationalisation of non-priority expenditure, while protecting and preserving priority expenditure,” the department had said.
Driven by the sharp increase in spending and weak tax revenues amid the decline in economic activity, public-sector net debt has increased by £227.6bn over the past year to more than £2tn for the first time. National debt is at 100.5% of GDP for the first time since March 1961.
